KHAIRPUR, March 12: PPP MNA Shagufta Jumani and MPA Dr Mehreen Bhutto have said that no deal was underway between the PPP and the government and those who are spreading such rumours have themselves come through the backdoors.

Speaking at a joint press conference here on Monday, they said that 2007 is the year of election and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto will be present among the masses before the general election. They said that the country was going through a difficult situation.

The PPP leaders said that history in itself was a proof that how many unemployed youths had committed suicide during the present government.

In reply to a question about the Multi-Party Conference (MPC) to be held in London, they said that if the MPC was to be held on the platform of the ARD, then Benazir Bhutto would surely have attended it. They said that women have no protection, and added that the women protection bill was presented just for a show.

Speaking about the suspension of the Chief Justice, they said that no such incident had occurred in the history of Pakistan.
