DADU, March 12: About 25 per cent of voters in far-flung areas of Kachho and Kutcho are still not registered therefore mobile teams should be sent there to register voters’ names.

PPP MNA Rafiq Ahmed Jamali told a party meeting on Monday that the census of houses and registration of names in voter lists was not carried out properly in his constituency.

Half of the population of the country, he said, was living without the facilities of health and education while corruption was increasing everyday.

He said that the federal and Sindh governments had failed in providing basic facilities to poor people.

The meeting condemned President Musharraf’s decision to suspend Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. It demanded the withdrawal of cases against PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari and others.

Meanwhile, PPP-SB activists took out a protest rally against the torture of their comrades in Sindh jails.

They also observed a token hunger strike outside the press club.
