KARACHI, March 9: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the ongoing development projects relating to the water and sewerage system were in the final stage.
He said the city government believed in practical work and was paying due attention to all problems being faced by people. That’s why it enjoyed confidence of the masses, he added.
The nazim was speaking as chief guest at a ceremony held here on Friday on the occasion of the signing of an agreement between Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and M/s Siemens for the installation of power generators at the pumping stations of North Nazimabad, North Karachi and Orangi towns.
The generators, having an individual capacity of 350KV, 500KV and 1,250KV, would be installed in October this year at a cost of Rs75 million.
Managing Director of the KWSB Brig (r) Iftikhar Haider and Country Head of the Siemens Sohail Wajahat Siddiqi signed the agreement in the presence of the city nazim. The ceremony was attended by KWSB Additional Vice-Chairmen MPA Imamuddin Shahzad, MPA Mohammad Moin Khan, MPA Bilqees Mukhtar.
Earlier, Mr Siddiqi appreciated the city nazim’s efforts in initiating mega developmental projects in the city.
