ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: The volume of trade between Pakistan and Romania increased by about 100 per cent during the financial year 2000-01 as compared to previous year as a result of efforts to develop bilateral economic relations.
Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Emil Ghitulescu made these remarks in an interview on Thursday.
He said: “I am highly convinced that there is tremendous trade potential between our countries and there are many other avenues for boosting Romanian-Pakistani cooperation.”
Talking about the forthcoming meeting of the joint economic session between the two countries, he said that a Romanian delegation, headed by Mihai Berinde, secretary of state in ministry of industry and resources, will arrive in Karachi on March 1 on a week long visit to Pakistan.
He said that on March 2, in Karachi, the Federation of Pakistani Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Romania would organize the forum “Pak-Romania Business Opportunities.”—APP
