ISLAMABAD, Feb 12: The capital administration has put the local state-run hospitals on high alert in the wake of reports that terrorists might strike again in the city, it has been learnt.

Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Mohammad Ali, in a letter issued here on Monday, asked the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the Federal Government Services Hospital and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) hospital to take special measures to meet any emergency situation in Islamabad.

The official also asked the hospital managements to appoint focal persons and provide their names and contact numbers to the district administration.

On receiving the guidelines, special arrangements have been made in the hospital where doctors and paramedics are now on standby. The hospital administrations have also asked the blood banks to arrange blood of different groups.

Likewise, ambulances have also been put on standby to meet any emergency.
