ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) will start audit of taxpayers at Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs) in Karachi and Lahore by end of the current month.
An official in the CBR said for this purpose the training of auditors had already been started to enable them to detect evasion of taxes under the tax administration reforms programme.
The CBR had suspended audit of taxpayers two years ago due to non-existence of any effective audit policy and rampant instances of corruption by auditors.
The audit will be carried out in automobiles, cement, cigarette, fertiliser, sugar, and telecom sectors and cash business.
