GUJAR KHAN, Jan 20: Circulation of fake currency notes of Rs5,000, Rs1,000, Rs500, 100 and 50 denominations has evoked concerns among the business community of Gujar Khan, Bewal and Daultala areas. According to the businessmen, the circulation of fake currency notes had already deprived them of their valuable capital.

Raja Khalid Mahmood, a shopkeeper of Daultala town, showed this correspondent a number of Rs5,000, Rs1,000, Rs500 and Rs100 notes that some fraudesters had given to him after buying some items from the shop.

A number of other shopkeepers complained that the newly introduced currency notes were replicated with close similarity and they were being easily cheated.

The shopkeepers and business circles have called upon the governor State Bank to take measures to check the circulation of fake currency notes.
