ISLAMABAD, Jan 20: Plan for construction of the new Islamabad International Airport is progressing as per schedule. This was clarified by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in a statement on Saturday.

“The construction of a domestic terminal at the existing airport in Chaklala is to facilitate the public as the present setup is saturated and there is no room for further expansion in the existing terminal building.

The interim arrangement is a low cost construction and will cater for five years’ requirement till such time the operation is shifted to the new location,” it added.
