ISLAMABAD, Jan 20: Acting President Mohammedmian Soomro has called upon young scientists to devote their energies to master the developing technologies emerging in various disciplines.
While inaugurating the first international workshop on molecular medicine and drug research, jointly organized by Dr Panjwani Centre and the Comstech, he said that only this way humanity could benefit form their knowledge and research.
Mr Soomro said that the health sector was an important area and it needed scientific endeavours. He said that it was a matter of satisfaction that with the understanding of diseases, Pakistani scientists were in a position to discover real causes rather than going for symptomatic treatment.
He lauded the useful work done at Dr Panjwani Centre for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research and Hussein Ebrahim Jamal Research Institute of Chemistry in diagnostic and productive research activities.
The Comstech and OIC Standing Committee on Science and Technology had initiated various programmes aimed at strengthening science and technology in the member states, he added.
