MANSEHRA, Jan 20: Five students, who had been orphaned in the October 2005 earthquake, left for Turkey to get higher education there. These students will complete their studies in various disciplines with the financial support of the International Human Rights and Human Relief (IHH).

A simple but impressive ceremony was held here at the Al Khubaib Foundation, a subsidiary of the IHH at Atar Sheesha on Saturday.

The students are Mehran Zeb, Ihtishamul Haq, Mohammad Anas, Waqas Bashir and Kalimullah.

The students praised the contributions of the non-govermental organisation and said that they would concentrate on their studies in Turkey and return to the country to support their other family members and serve the country.

The foundation’s project director Maj (retd) Fayyaz Akbar said that five more students would be sent to Turkey from Muzaffarabad.—APP
