ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: The People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) on Friday alleged that some secret agencies personnel had stolen important documents, CDs and other data storage devices from the apartment of Senator Rukhsana Zuberi at the Parliament Lodges.
Speaking at a news conference at the party’s Media Centre, PPP secretary-general Raja Pervez Ashraf, Senator Rukhsana Zuberi and media coordinator Nazir Dhoki termed it a unique incident in the world in which the official residence of a sitting senator had been ransacked.
The PPP leaders said that they were sure that the act had been committed by the agencies personnel as the things stolen could not be of any use for a common person. “It seems the government wants to warn Senator Rukhsana Zuberi and others who have been exposing the wrongdoings and corruption of the rulers,” said Mr Ashraf.
He said Ms Zuberi had been exposing ‘fraud’ of the government in the fixation of oil prices for the past many years and also collecting data regarding bogus voters.
