PESHAWAR, Dec 30: Capital City Police Officer Malik Saad has said that nobody will be allowed to create nuisance by firing into the air, overspeeding and merrymaking on the new year night.
The city police chief issued a circular on Saturday stating that nobody would be spared if found guilty of violating law. He said there was already a complete ban on display of arms.
Malik Saad said that creating nuisance by over speeding and high-pitched music and arranging parties where liquor is consumed was a crime under the Pakistan Penal Code and other laws.
“Police won’t allow any illegal and un-Islamic act on the new year night,” he added.
The police official has given one-week deadline to drivers of public transport directing them to remove all vulgar photographs, unnecessary decoration mirrors and other illegal items from their vehicles. Public transport drivers should visibly display route numbers on their buses, he added.
He warned the public to remove tinted glasses, hooters and illegal registration plates from their vehicles.—Bureau Report
