NOWSHERA, Dec 11: Additional District and Sessions Judge Ashfaq Taj on Monday ordered to revise the rate of the land acquired for the Peshawar-Islamabad motorway in Misri Banda village from Rs1,098 to Rs7,000 per marla of land.
The court disposed of scores of suits filed by hundreds of villagers of Misri Banda, stating that the rates fixed by the land acquisition collector were nominal keeping in view the prevalent market rate.
The court issued decrees in favour of the affected people observing that the price fixed was too low as compared to the market rate.
Several lawyers appeared for the complainants and contended that it was injustice to land owners to fix a rate much lower then the market rate.
