SWABI, Feb 16: The residents of Gandaf on Friday formed a 40-member committee, which will meet the NWFP governor to apprise him of the drug mafia and other criminal gangs operating in their area in connivance with police.

Some residents told Dawn on Saturday that the area police were abetting drug smugglers, gamblers and video centres owners who, they said, were spreading evils among their children.

They complained that drugs and other contraband goods were easily available in Gandaf. They called upon the police to help the residents instead of the criminals.
