GUJRAT, Nov 3: The Gujjar Khan police on Friday registered a case against five nominated accused, including a police head-constable, and two unidentified accused for killing Waqar Haider Shah, the son of former district naib nazim Syed Noorul Hassan Shah.

The case was registered on the complaint of Syed Sajid Shah, an uncle of the slain. The nominated accused included policeman Waqar Shah, his brother Jawad Shah, Ibrar Shah, his brother Mehdi Shah and Ghulam Rasool.

It is alleged in the FIR that Waqar Haider received three bullets in the head when Waqar, Ibrar and Mehdi shot at him. The complainant said the motive behind the killing was that the principal accused, Waqar, suspected that Qari was involved in the murder of his brother Abid Shah.

Sources said the Gujjar Khan police had picked up suspect Abdul Ghafoor alias Shahab of Adowal due to his alleged involvement in the murder of Qari Shah.

The funeral procession of Waqar was held at Qulewal Syedan on Thursday. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.

Qul will be held at Qulewal Syedan on Saturday (today).
