GUJRANWALA, Nov 2: Punjab IGP Ziaul Hassan has said in future no police station will be run in a rented building or temporary facility and they will have their own buildings.
Speaking at the Ashraf Marth police lines late Wednesday, he claimed that the Punjab government had won the hearts of the police after giving Rs20,000 to SDPOs, Rs15,000 to SHOs and Rs2,000 to constables as monthly allowance. He urged the police officials to work hard for providing protection to the people. He said the separation of watch and ward and investigation departments had paid dividends and the people were feeling relief.
The IGP said the traffic system was being revamped in five big cities — Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi — after deploying traffic police officers shortly.
He received applications from some police officials regarding their problems and directed the officials concerned to resolve them.
