KARACHI, Oct 18: A woman was found dead with her throat slit in her house in Mehmoodabad on Thursday.
The police broke open the doors of the house and sent the body to a mortuary for autopsy. The police had not ascertained the exact motive for the killing till our going to the press.
BODY FOUND: Partially decomposed body of a man was found in Quaidabad on Thursday.
The police said that the body, which was few days old, was found near the railway godown in Zafar Town, Quaidabad. The body was sent to Jinnah Post- graduate Medical Centre for post-mortem. The hospital sources said that the man had suffered head injuries, and he might be a victim of a road accident.
CARJACKING: Seven vehicles — three cars and four motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Thursday, the police said.
The cars were hijacked in Aziz Bhatti (two) and Gulshan-i-Iqbal.
Two motorcycles were hijacked in Civil Lines and SITE. Two others were stolen in Ferozabad and Saddar.
The police also claimed on Thursday to have recovered five vehicles in the city.
ROBBERIES: Two robberies were committed in the city on Thursday, the police said.
Mohammed Iqbal lodged a complaint at Arambagh police station that unidentified men looted prize bonds, gold jewellery and other valuables from his house.
Mohammed Ahmed lodged a complaint at the area police station that unidentified men robbed him of cash, gold jewellery and other valuables in his house in Nazimabad.
INJURED: Bandits injured five persons in the city on Thursday.
Bandits shot and wounded a salesman and a pedestrian in Ranchhor Lines. The police said that three bandits tried to rob a salesman of cash. When Shahid, aged 25, and Mohammed Jameel, aged 17, put up resistance to the bandits, they shot and wounded them. The police said that the bandits escaped. The injured men had been admitted to Civil Hospital.
Bandits shot and wounded one man in Pak Colony and another in Gizri. Bandits stabbed and wounded a man in Punjab Colony. Bandits injured these men when they put up resistance to them when they barged into their houses to commit robbery.
