KARACHI, Oct 5: Quetta’s pacer Nazar Hussain and spinner Mohibullah shared eight wickets between them to bowl out Karachi Urban for 189 in their first innings on the opening day of their three-day PCB Inter-Region Under-19 Cricket Championship match at PCB Academy Ground on Thursday.
Karachi Urban, put into bat by Quetta, failed to resist some fine bowling from left-arm pacer Nazir who snapped up five wickets for 65 and left-arm spinner Mohibullah who claimed three wickets for 21 runs.
For Urban, only Zaheer Abbas (50) from top order faced the opposition with confidence, hitting five boundaries and two sixes. He was well supported by Ahmed Iqbal who hit seven boundaries in his 41.
By draw of stumps, Quetta were 96 for four wickets in 26 overs. Amil Khan was 24 not out and Dawood Khan was unbeaten on 12.
In Abbottabad, Syed Fuaad’s fine 121 kept the Karachi Harbour attack at bay in their inter-region clash at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Put into bat by Karachi side, Abbottabad were finally dismissed for 308.
Fuaad’s delightful knock contained sixteen boundaries and one six as he tore into the tourists’ bowling.
He was assisted well by Irfan (76) while Rameez Ahmed (22) also played well in the lower order.
For the visiting side, Mohammad Junaid with 5-85 was the most successful bowler. Yasir also bagged two wickets for 51 runs. At stumps, Karachi Harbour were 8 without loss.
