DADU, Oct 5: Local transporters and drivers staged a demonstration at the new bus- stand here on Thursday and blocked the Indus Highway to protest against the parking tax being charged by officials of the Town Municipal Administration, Dadu.

Led by transporters Khan Pathan and Khalid Pathan, they said that TMA Dadu was collecting double parking tax from local vehicles but exempting transporters bringing in vehicles from other towns.

They demanded that local transports and vehicles be exempted from parking tax.

A clash took place between transporters and officials of TMA as a result of which two transporters, Khan Pathan and Khalid Pathan, received injuries.

The Dadu town police intervened and arrested two drivers, Azhar and Nasir.
