Indo-Pakistan debate contest

SWABI, Oct 5: Students of the Ghulam Ishaq Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology have won an Indo-Pakistan declamation contest held in New Delhi recently.

The Debating Society of Pakistan had selected two teams comprising students of the GIK Institute and Lahore University of Management Sciences for the contest. The 5-day contest was held at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, from Sept 25.

The students, who returned from New Delhi on Wednesday, said the GIK Institute team had won the contest. The team comprised Imaad Rashid, debating captain, Waqar Nayyar and Mustafa M. Khan.

GIKI students defeated the team of RAMJAS College Delhi in the final by a margin of 7-0. Imaad Rashid was declared the best speaker.
