KARACHI, Oct 5: The quintuplets who were born prematurely after a caesarean section at a private hospital in Kharadar on Wednesday are doing well and doctors are now hopeful about their survival.
Dr Atiya Aamir, who conducted the birth of three boys and two girls at the Kharadar General Hospital, told Dawn late Thursday night that newborns are now in good shape and responding like normal children.
Their mother, Parveen Abbas, who is a Hepatitis reactive patient with O positive blood group, is also showing improvement after undergoing surgery, she added, saying the mother and the under weight newborns will be kept at the hospital for a week.
To a question, Dr Atiya said the two babies who did not appear all perfect after delivery were now stable and chances of their survival were also bright.
However, she said newborn may develop jaundice and that was why they were still in incubator.
