PESHAWAR, Feb 12: The physicians and surgeons of NWFP want to establish a college where facilities like medical museum, computer laboratory and medical library will be provided.

The proposed college also envisages arrangements of training facilities for young doctors. This was stated by a delegation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, NWFP, during a meeting with NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah here on Monday.

The delegation also informed the governor about the activities and responsibilities of the college.

The governor, while appreciating the proposed plan of the college, said that the provincial government would extend every possible help for the establishment of the college.

He said the government was trying to provide improved health facilities at the district level, for which the latest equipment and trained professionals would be provided at the district headquarters hospitals.

The government, he said, was following a policy to provide health facilities on the secondary level, so that the health requirements of the people could be met at the local level.
