KARACHI, Sept 7: Police have registered two more FIRs against the former head of the Lyari Task Force, SP Aslam Khan, on Thursday.

A senior police official on condition of anonymity said that FIR 101/06 lodged at the Gadap police station in which the (LTF) had claimed killing Mashooq Brohi in an encounter, was rendered ‘B Class’ by a court as it turned out to be a fake one.

Thus, on Thursday, FIR 07/2006 under section 411 was lodged at the Gadap City police station. The FIR states that SP Aslam Khan kept a snatched vehicle (ADG-648) under his possession. The car was shown in possession of Mashooq Brohi in FIR 101/06. The car in question was snatched on June 16 from DHA, the FIR held.

The second FIR 08/2006 also lodged at the Gadap City police station under section 13-E Arms Ordinance. Three weapons were shown as recovered, in the FIR 101/06, an SMG three rounds, repeater five rounds and a 9mm with 6 rounds.

The FIR states that SP Aslam Khan was keeping these illegal weapons in his possession.

SP Khan is already in the judicial custody on court orders in the FIR 101/2006 registered at Sakrand police station lodged by the family of Rasool Bux Brohi.

FOUND DEAD: A couple was found murdered in their apartment in F.B. Area late Wednesday night.

Bodies of Dr Abdul Aziz Qazi and his wife Farooq Begum were discovered when their granddaughter, who came to visit them on Wednesday night. On smelling stench emanating from the apartment she informed the police.

“We broke down the door and found the bodies lying in a pool of blood”, a duty officer of the Gulberg police station said. Police said that the bodies were at least 2 days old.

Police said that no valuables were found missing from the premises, a note was found by the police suggesting that the killing was driven by old enmity.

Police shifted the bodies to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. After initial examination, hospital sources said that both the victim’s were killed by slitting their throats.
