HARIPUR, Aug 31: A woman committed suicide here on Thursday. Police quoted a brick kiln worker of Kangra Colony, Haider Khan, as saying that he and other family members broke into a room when his wife Gulshan, 28, who was there, did not respond to repeated knocks at the door. They found her body hanging with the ceiling fan.

She was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The motives behind the suicide could not be known.

In another incident, Zubair Ahmed, 22, of Mankraey village committed suicide with a pistol shot in his chest, police said.
