KARACHI, Aug 26: Fourth seed Parichart Charoensukployphol of Thailand whipped third seed Karina Ahuja of India in straight sets to claim the girls’ singles title in the ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking tennis championship at Islamabad Club on Saturday.
She took 58 minutes to register a 6-3, 6-1 victory over her opponent.
The pair of American Ryan Cheung and Thailand’s Krittanu Puthong struggled to edge past Pakistani duo of Omer Babar and Khurram Nazir in a three-set thriller to grab the boys doubles title.
They romped home 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in a well contested encounter that lasted two hours.
The boys’ singles final between Pakistan’s Yasir Khan and Tanveer Ashiq will be played on Sunday at 3.30pm.
Meanwhile, the boys’ singles qualifying round matches of second leg were held on Saturday.
