PESHAWAR, Aug 23: The monument of Gor Khattree, located inside the old city, would be restored at a cost of Rs36.25 million including $35,000 provided by the US government, officials said.
NWFP Chief Secretary Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi presided over a meeting here on Tuesday and discussed the restoration of the historical monument, said a handout.
The meeting discussed the restoration work which included establishment of Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, conservation of ancient cells and structures of Mughal, Sikh and British eras at the Gor Khattree.
The chief secretary said that the work should be carried out in a transparent manner and its quality should be ensured.
