LAHORE, Feb 11: The Punjab Privatization Board has started auction of the commercial and residential attached properties in different districts of the province to pay back the stuck up amounts to co-operatives’ victims.

Official sources told APP here on Monday that one workshop in Lahore and a commercial property at the PRTC bus stand in Sialkot have been auctioned publicly on Feb 2 and 9 respectively.

Sources said that other properties in Chichawatani, Kamalia, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Jhang, Chiniot and Muzaffargarh were also being auctioned at the district council halls and at the offices of deputy district officers (revenue) of the respective stations. The process began on Feb 2 and will end on March 9.

Sources said that the reserve price of all these properties had already been notified and made public for the convenience of the buyers.

The government has given exemption from the deduction of advance income tax on the purchase of all properties of the privatization board to ensure the quick disposal of the real estate in the larger interest of the co-operatives’ victims.— APP
