PESHAWAR, Feb 11: The Cultural and Dramatic Society, University of Peshawar, is organizing a three-day programme from Tuesday to pay tribute to the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Jehanzeb Khan, coordinator Khyber Literary Club, University of Peshawar, told Dawn that this programme was supposed to be arranged last year, which was declared as the year of the Quaid by the government.
However, with the sudden closure of the university due to the Afghan crisis just after the summer vacation and then because of the month of Ramazan, it could not be arranged, he added.
It was learnt that the programme will include an exhibition of the rare photographs and writings/documents of the Quaid besides a grand function. In this respect, the National Archives, Islamabad, and the Directorate of Archives and Libraries, NWFP, will also collaborate and cooperate in the event, the coordinator said.
The exhibition will held from 10am to 6pm in the Teachers Community Hall, University of Peshawar. On Feb 14, the third and final day, the CDS will organize a grand function in honour of the Quaid at 3pm till 6pm in the Convocation Hall, University of Peshawar, in which the students of various institutions and departments will present their performances.
