ISLAMABAD, Aug 13: After the reports that Indian secret agency ‘RAW’ and defunct outfits could sabotage peace on the occasion of the Independence Day, the government has beefed up security throughout the country.
Interior Ministry sources said that after foiling of a terrorists’ plot in London, foolproof security arrangements had been made in the country and law enforcement agencies had been put on high alert.
They said security had been beefed up in Islamabad and vacations of intelligence agencies personnel postponed.
Security cameras had been installed in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad besides the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Administration of each district has been directed to give security clearance ahead any political, religious or social gathering.
