KARACHI, Aug 8: Eight ships carrying yellow peas, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light where three ships, China Star, to unload and load containers, Ocean Friend and Jolbus to unload steel were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Multan, Ocean Grace and Al-Marwah, while Persia, China Star, Jolbus, Apostolos-2, Corin Thaikos, Swat and Ocean Friend are due to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 81,936 tons comprising 13,825 tons of export cargo including 677 tons of rice and 68,111 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Ibn Batouta, to load 7,000 tons of cement, Ding Xiang Hai, with 40,093 tons of yellow peas, Hyundai Advance, Marcalabria, Y.M. Eneregy, Thor Captain, with containers, Ricmers Doha, with steel coils, and Scan Bothnia, with general cargo.
