KARACHI, Aug 7: An Anti-Terrorism Court in of Karachi on Monday adjourned the hearing of a kidnapping for ransom case against three accused after recording the statement of a prosecution witnesses.

Qazi Hanifullah, Qazi Farhad and Sikandar Shah are charged with kidnapping a bank employee, Hamid Omer, for ransom on Sept 20, 2005 in the Clifton area.

According to the prosecution, after kidnapping the accused took the victim to Peshawar and received Rs20,500 through his ATM card. The victim was recovered by Peshawar police on Oct 12, 2005.

Witness Mohammad Babar, who prepared a government number plate for the accused which was later used in the kidnapping of the man, recorded his statement and identified the accused. He said Sikandar Shah, with other two co-accused, had asked him to prepare the number plate.—PPI
