LAHORE, Feb 9: Mohammad Hussain continued his domination with the bat and ball as defending champions Lahore Blues put themselves in sight of victory against Rest of NWFP on the penultimate day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I fixture at LCCA Ground Saturday.
The Blues, who had conceded a 137-run lead on the first innings, then had NWFP tottering at 132 for six in pursuit of a target of 227 with former Test slow left-armer Hussain snapping up five for 36 in 30 splendid overs. He claimed six for 60 in NWFP’s first innings.
Earlier, Hussain completed a fine century after resuming at 93 this morning.
The left-hander was finally out for 126 as Lahore Blues extended their overnight score of 312 to 363 all out.
Hussain’s fine 159-ball knock was laced with 14 fours and three sixes.
Slow left-armer Noorul Amin finished with five for 100 while pacer Sajid Shah took four for 101 (match haul of 11 for 145).
