ISLAMABAD, July 12: Cellular phone operator Ufone on Wednesday announced the electronic recharge service to facilitate its countrywide pre-paid subscribers.
“This service will not only provide convenience to the Ufone customers but also bring around $4 million investment to the country and create more employment opportunities,” said Ufone President and CEO Babar Khan.
He was addressing an agreement signing ceremony with e-pay Asia Limited and e-pay Pakistan. The agreement aims at securing and promoting the use of electronic recharge (e-Top-Up) for Ufone's base prepaid mobile subscribers.
Mr Babar said with this electronic recharge service, expected to be launched within next 45 days, Ufone's customers would enjoy the convenience of using cash to buy recharge air time anywhere and anytime.
Tariq Fuad, Chairman of e-pay Pakistan, said in addition to point of sale terminals, e-pay also planned to launch other forms of e-Top-Up which would included recharge via ATM machines, cash registers, mobile phones, kiosks and internet.
