MARDAN, Feb 9: The NWFP deputy president of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and former provincial information minister Abdul Subhan Khan has ruled out the possibility of forming alliance with the Awami National Party.

The party could consider alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party in the forthcoming general elections, he added.

Talking to NNI here on Saturday, he said PML members who had looted the national exchequer during Nawaz rule splintered off from the party, and joined the PML (Q).

He said the Muslim League under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif would contest the polls with all its spirit.

The splinters knew their position as they had already faced defeat in the local parties elections, therefore they were spreading rumours of alliance with one group or the other, he said.

But they could not even secure their guarantees as voters would reject them for their disloyalties, he said.

PML leader claimed that his party could still sweep the forthcoming elections with majority.

He hailed the graduation condition for contesting the polls, and said this step would help retain the norms of democracy.—NNI
