DERA GHAZI KHAN:A youth drowned while bathing in a tubewell pool in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, the incident occurred near Kot Haibat School on Taunsa Road, where an 18-year-old boy drowned while taking a bath in a tubewell pool.

Locals pulled the boy out of the water after noticing that he had become unconscious and immediately called Rescue 1122. The control room dispatched an ambulance from the nearby Taunsa Bypass point, and rescue personnel reached the scene within 10 minutes.

However, by the time rescuers arrived, the boy had already died.

Family members told rescue officials that the deceased, identified as Siraj, son of Mushtaq, was an epilepsy patient and had reportedly suffered a seizure while bathing, causing him to drown.

At the family’s request, the body was shifted to their residence in Basti Ismailwala, Kot Haibat.

Police were informed of the incident, while further proceedings were being completed according to legal requirements.
