LAKKI MARWAT: Two people were killed, and as many were injured in separate road accidents in Lakki Marwat and Karak districts on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 officials said that a man was killed, and two others received injuries when their car hit a roadside tree in Lakki Marwat.

They said the accident occurred on the Peshawar-Karachi Highway near Gandi Adda.

They identified the deceased as Hayatullah, a resident of Haramatala, and said that the injured included Sherbaz Khan, a resident of Shadikhel, and Waheed Khan, a resident of Kotka Mehmood.

They said that the body and injured people were transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Serai Naurang town.

Separately, a motorcyclist lost his life while another bike rider was injured in a collision between their motorcycles at the Amberi Kallay Chowk in Karak district.

CHECKPOSTS: The police will set up additional checkpoints at the entry and exit points of the Lakki Marwat district as part of a foolproof security plan to maintain peace and avert any untoward incident during Eidul Azha.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, District Police Officer Nazir Khan said the police would put in place comprehensive security measures to provide a peaceful environment for citizens during the Eid festival.
