SWABI: A state-of-the-art laboratory was inaugurated at the Bacha Khan Medical Complex in Shahmansoor here on Saturday.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the newly established laboratory, which cost Rs60 million.

Unicef Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Team Lead Dr Inamullah and Member Board of Governors, Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Dr Tufail Mohammad, were also present on the occasion.

According to hospital director Dr Khalid Masud, the facility was equipped with all modern diagnostic services required in a contemporary laboratory, including microbiology, haematology, histopathology, TB Culture, and other advanced diagnostic tests.

Following the inauguration, the Unicef delegation visited various sections of the laboratory and was briefed on each department.

This laboratory will benefit not only the people of Swabi but also the surrounding districts.

It was further stated that the laboratory was powered through a solar system, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services.
