Uplift projects approved

LAHORE, June 12: A provincial steering committee meeting held here on Monday approved 24 new development projects costing Rs23.9 million to be executed under the Tameer-i-Punjab Programme.

The meeting presided over by law and local government minister Basharat Raja was told that 257 projects had been completed at a cost of Rs 50.45 million during the current fiscal.

The minister said that all funds would be spent through the local government department. However, he said, if any member wanted execution (of some project) through other agency he should acquire formal approval. — APP
