MIRAMSHAH, June 8: Militants triggered a bomb near a patrol of troops in North Waziristan on Thursday and soldiers opened fire in retaliation, wounding one civilian, an intelligence official said.

The soldiers were on a routine security patrol when the roadside bomb went off in a bazaar in Mir Ali, a town in North Waziristan tribal area, the official said.

No one was injured in the explosion but the passer-by was hit by a bullet when the troops retaliated, he said.—AP
