Dhaka JI leader meets NWFP amir

ISLAMABAD, May 28: The Jamaat Islami of Pakistan and Bangladesh on Sunday agreed to promote unity and solidarity among Muslims to enable them meet the challenges they were facing.

It was agreed at a meeting here between the visiting Bangladesh JI secretary-general and minister for social welfare Ali Ahsan Mujahid and NWFP senior minister and provincial amir of JI Sirajul Haq.

Both the leaders stressed that Muslims should shun their petty differences to achieve excellence in areas of running governments, politics, science and technology.

They said that the masses of Pakistan and Bangladesh were like a single spirit in two bodies whose past and present were tied together.

Mr Mujahid informed his Pakistani host that Bangladesh was politically and democratically strong and its popularity was growing with every passing day.—Staff Reporter
