Murali happy to face tests

LONDON, May 20: Prepared to do anything to prove he is no cheat, Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan says it annoys him when those pointing fingers at legality of his action refuse to accept scientific test results, which have time and again proved his innocence.

“The controversy never ends,” he told The Independent.

“It does frustrate and annoy me at times as people believe in science and technology for everything but when it comes to me they can't, or don't want to.”

He wished there was some method which could conclusively clear his action.

“I have tried to do everything I can do to convince them but with some it is impossible. But most important thing is I am happy within myself.”

Murali said he has no qualms in being tested again if need arises but asked his detractors to believe in results as there was no other way to check legality of his action.—Agencies
