MIRPURKHAS, May 20: The EDO health of Mirpurkhas, Dr Hadi Bux Laghari, has said blood samples of residents of the Murghai Khan village in Hussain Bux Mari taluka revealed that Hepatitis-B is prevalent among villagers.

He said that a team of doctors went to the village on Friday following reports of three deaths last week.

He said that 23 blood samples were obtained from villagers, showing prevalence of hepatitis-B among six villagers.

Another doctors’ team has been despatched to the village.

The civil surgeon of the Civil Hospital, Mirpurkhas, Dr Akhlaq Ahmed Khan, said that a patient, Eid Gul, 18, of the village suffered from hepatitis-B and has been referred to Hyderabad.
