KARACHI, April 27: Nine ships, including two loaders to load 36,000 tons of rice, are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Judi Muhieddine and Malakand are expected to load 21,000 and 15,000 tons of rice, respectively, while another is already at the port in the process of loading.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, including Naxos and Arihant, to offload sugar, Hyundai Advance, Kota Waruna and Y.M. Energy, to unload containers, were berthed.

Five ships, Corin Thaikos, PAC Antlia, APL Pusan, Anangel and Eagle, departed on Thursday, while F.T. Win Far-161, Kota Waruna, Andino Park, Y.M. Energy, Eleana, Mirna, Parsian and Calvin P. Titus are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 79,249 tons comprising 29,235 tons of export cargo, including 6,705 tons of rice and 50,014 tons of import tonnage, was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Lady Jasmine, to load 23,000 tons of molasses, Shalamar, to offload crude oil, Maersk Alabama, Hanjin Busan, to unload and load containers, Judi Muhieddine and Malakand, with sugar, Delta Ranger, with coal, Dina Queen, and Irin Butterfly, with general cargo.
