LAHORE, April 24: Federal Religious Affairs Minister Ijazul Haq has said that the government will not allow the ‘London plan’ of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif to succeed.
Talking to newsmen after the Haj Conference at the Alhamra Art Centre here on Monday, he said the government would use its resources to counter the plan of two former prime ministers.
He said Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif should return and face trial instead of making plans abroad.
He said general elections could be held even earlier than scheduled.
He said the ulema arrested in the provincial metropolis had been released. Maulana Sarfraz Naeemi was not amongst those released. —Reporter
