KARACHI, April 21: The city naib nazim, Nasreen Jalil, has called upon the organizations working for the rights and welfare of the womenfolk to form a joint platform for an effective and result-oriented struggle besides expanding their area of activities to the poor people dwelling in small islands of Karachi.

She was speaking at a function organised by the Soroptomist International Club Federation, UK and Ireland, according to a release issued on Friday.

Ms Jalil said the International Club Federation was an example of joint platform serving the womenfolk in education, health, empowerment and other sectors. She said that the city government was focussing on the welfare of women.—PPI
