Two brothers shot dead by rivals

GUJRANWALA, April 20: Two brothers were shot dead while as many sustained injuries when rivals opened fire on them over a plot dispute in Kamoki late on Wednesday night.

Reports said that Ghulam Haider and Yousaf were at daggers drawn with each other over a piece of plot near the railway crossing. On Wednesday night, accused Yousaf and their men opened fire on their rivals. Consequently, Mahboob Ali and Abdul Khaliq died instantly while their brothers Ghulam Murtaza and Ghulam Mustafa suffered serious injuries.

They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

Police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating.

STRIKE: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) observed a complete strike to press for the acceptance of its demands here on Thursday.

Reports said that all low-paid employees of the government and semi-government departments locked their offices.

They held a meeting and demanded that scales of the clerical staff and low-paid employees should be revised. APCA divisional president Tahir Mahmood Bhatti and other office-bearers visited offices and expressed their satisfaction over the strike.
