KARACHI, April 20: Minister for Water and Power Liquat Jatoi and a group of prospective wind power companies on Thursday held a meeting to fix prices for producing wind power.

The minister assured the group led by Dr Miftah Ismail that all energy produced by wind power companies would be purchased at an agreed power tariff by the KESC and Wapda.

Dr Miftah Ismail appreciated the role of AEDB in facilitating and promoting wind power sector which was urgently needed to cut ever rising power tariffs due to rapidly increasing POL prices the world over.

The Sindh government has already allotted land in Thatta and Badin to 10 companies, which are keen to set up units for producing wind power. The government had already approved 10 units of 50-mw each.
