BADIN: Free eye camp organised

BADIN, April 15: Over 480 eye patients were treated and 58 were operated upon at a two-day free eye camp which concluded at the Civil Hospital, Badin, on Saturday.

The free eye camp was organized by the Sindh Graduates Association, Badin chapter, in collaboration with the Prevention and Control Blind Cell, Karachi.

A team of doctors comprising Professor (Dr) Amjad Shaikh of Karachi, Dr Aslam Khatti of Digri, Dr Hassan Memon and others treated the patients.

Speaking at the concluding session of the eye camp, DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri lauded services of the SAG and appealed to the people to leave behind wills for donating their eyes after death so that those who were deprived of this blessing might see light.

The representative of British Petroleum, Dr Air Abbas Comoro, said that the company had donated medicines, intra-ocular lenses and other equipment worth Rs300, 000 for the camp.
