LAKKI MARWAT, April 5: A three-day training workshop on participatory planning and development concluded here on Wednesday. The workshop was organized by the Human Resource Development Institute, Islamabad, in collaboration with the governance unit of the NWFP government’s Planning and Development Department Essential Institutional Reforms Operationalisation Programme (EIROP).
District naib nazim Qudratullah Khan, tehsil nazim Fareedullah Khan Meenakhel, other nazims, naib nazims and local government representatives attended the workshop.
Workshop facilitators, Mohammad Ahsan Ashraf and Qazi Kabeer Ahmad, spoke on various topics, including the concept of participatory development and participation, the importance of gender sensitive programmes in participatory development and the role of women in local government, devolution of powers, project planning under devolution plan, logical framework analysis (LFA), monitoring and evaluation of development projects, and the role of the citizen community boards.
