HYDERABAD, Oct 16: The leaders of Tehrik-i-Jafria Pakistan (TJP), Sindh, have strongly condemned terrorism anywhere in the world whether it was in America, Afghanistan, Palestine, Pakistan, or elsewhere.
Speaking at a news conference at Hyderabad press club here on Tuesday, they said that the murder of an innocent person whether he was a Muslim or a non-Muslim, was tantamount to the murder of humanity and such a crime could not be condoned.
They called upon the world community to thoroughly investigate into the terrorist attacks on America and try to find out the perpetrators of terrorism who had destroyed the peace of the world.
Supporting the policy of Pakistan government, the TJP leaders said that their party would support the actions which were necessary for the unity, solidarity, defence, peace and prosperity of the country.
They claimed on the orders of TJP chief Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, millions of party workers were ready to sacrifice their lives to defend the country.
They expressed profound sorrow and grief over the bombardment on the innocent people of Afghanistan and demanded of the government not to provide bases to any foreign country for attacks on another country.
They also urged the government to demonstrate similar zeal in breaking the network of terrorists in the country and arrest the terrorists involved in the massacre of leaders and workers of a particular sect.
Those who spoke at the news conference included Haji Shafi Mohammad Pitafi, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah Musvi, Nizamul Haideri, Abdul Ghaffar Sobhopoto and others.
NAP: Joint secretary of National Awami Party (NAP), Mohammad Fayyaz Awan has condemned the massacre of innocent civilians in Afghanistan due to American bombardment and called upon the US and its allies to stop attacks on what he called the historic land of Pakhtoons.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that history was witness to the fact that no one had ever conquered Afghans and the only way to persuade them to listen to arguments was through Jirga.
He said that peace could only be restored in Afghanistan through a broad based government by developing consensus among the ethnic and tribal groups of Afghanistan.
He said if need arose, the NAP could perform a positive role in restoring peace in Afghanistan.
Awan said the attacks on Afghanistan should be immediately stopped to enable Afghan people to decide their future failing which the present war could engulf whole world.
VICTIMIZATION: The information secretary of Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement (PONAM) Mansoor Qadir Junejo has demanded that the alleged harassment and victimization of the officials, hailing from Sindh and working in irrigation, buildings, roads and education engineering departments, by the Anti-Corruption Establishment, FIA and NAB be immediately stopped.
In a statement here on Tuesday, he regretted that the officials were being falsely implicated in different cases of corruption and dereliction of duty. He claimed that 400 engineers who belonged to another province were being given certificates of honesty by the agencies.
